As part of RMIA’s Disaster Reduction Week Battleground’s webinar explored a real-world case study as an example of poor risk management. The counter to this was used illustrate how modern practices avoid the same pitfalls.

Centred on four pillars, the 100+ attendees were taken from first principles in theory, to the responsibilities risk functions have to provide their companies with insight, oversight, and foresight. The session finished with the concrete, actionable takeaways that attendees could apply in their own organisations.

Audience questions centred around the interaction of the four pillars, the ‘tone from the top’ with regard to risk, monitoring risk culture, amplifying governance, and the continuous improvement of controls.
