Peter Duffy
Peter brings 30 years of experience in relation to risk, crisis and issues management, assurance, governance and associated practices that are fundamental to sound decision making in a successful and resilient organisation.
As Director of Enterprise Risk Services for Battleground Group Peter delivers outcomes that are reflective of his experience based belief that effective risk management is vital in both protecting and enhancing business impact and value.
Peter has most recently led the Enterprise Risk Function for the CSIRO, Australia’s National Science Agency. In that role he developed and enhanced CSIRO’s Risk Framework to support increased risk maturity and risk aware decision making at all levels of the organisation.
In addition, Peter was responsible for business continuity, crisis and issues management and has taken a leading role in both the development of continuity and crisis frameworks and the application of those frameworks through significant crisis events.
Peter is regularly invited to present at risk conferences on the challenge of effectively factoring risk into organisational decision making to both protect and enhance business value.

Joe McDavitt
Joe believes that, done right, operational risk management is a powerful contributor to helping achieve organisational objectives. His approach to enabling and driving this is built on gathering an in-depth understanding.
As Director, Operational Risk, Joe helps our clients connect their resilience efforts with broader operational risk management goals. With more than 20 years experience, Joe has held senior consultancy and management roles across retail banking, financial services, energy and utilities.
Joe has led significant projects in risk transformation, GRC system implementation, AML/CTF capability uplift and controls transformation. His experience has given him clear insight in to what works, and what doesn’t, when you seek to uplift risk management capabilities and behaviours.

Robin van Bergen
Robin brings over 25 years of international senior IT/Technology experience to the team, combined with IT Risk, Security and CPS230 implementation experience.
Originally from the Netherlands, Robin has held senior management technology and consultancy roles in financial services, the publishing and education sector, including disaster recovery, resilient systems and operational risk management responsibilities (‘putting out virtual fires’). He has recently led the CPS230 implementation for a customer owned bank.
Colloquially described as ‘Mr Fixit’, Robin assists in fixing problems with analysis, technology and/or process change, both operationally and through strategic digital transformation processes.
As a trusted advisor at/to the C-Suite, he works across organisational levels with different stakeholders and diverse teams of experts, translating ‘tech talk’ to plain language and leading the teams to success. In his spare time, he also puts out real fires as volunteer firefighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service, as well as enjoys outdoor activities, both on land and in/under water as scuba diver.

Eli Goldberg
Eli, with a passion for resilience and technology, helps clients effectively onboard Business Continuity Management (BCM), Risk Management, and Crisis Management frameworks.
With a keen understanding of organisational needs, Eli ensures that the integration of Battleground’s software (Battleground Live) is seamless and efficient, minimising disruptions while maximising operational resilience.

Jack Salkild
Jack brings extensive experience in emergency operations, governance, education, and large-scale disaster recovery projects to Battleground, helping organisations build resilience and navigate complex challenges.
Jack has worked across frontline emergency response, crisis leadership, and large-scale recovery efforts. As an Intensive Care Paramedic Manager and Clinical Educator, he led emergency response, coordinated multi-agency operations, and developed training exercises from desktop drills to high-fidelity simulations.
Jack has applied his expertise to governance and process improvement roles in state government disaster projects, helping to streamline operations and enhance resilience strategies. At Battleground, he brings this experience together for his clients by developing tailored solutions that drive emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity.
Outside of work, Jack loves pushing his limits in the gym. When he’s not lifting, he’s watching live music or spending time with his dog, making the most of Sydney’s parks and beaches.

Jake Schwarz
Jake specialises in Risk Management and Business Continuity, helping businesses, organisations and individuals identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks.

Liam is a highly motivated and respected consultant, with over three years of experience in the financial system and a major contributor to APRA’s superannuation expenditure management policy design.
He has worked in various specialised areas, including evaluating superannuation performance, financial policy design and implementation, climate change, and monitoring financial system risks.
Liam contributed to major components of the 2023 and 2024 Performance Test, a Climate Vulnerability Assessment on home insurance affordability, as well as APRA’s superannuation expenditure management policy design.
